Wednesday Speaker Sessions
Slope stability analysis and subsequent stabilization using various types of reinforcement typically are essential for successful projects involving landslide mitigation, constructed slopes, retaining walls, and stream-bank restoration. Slope reinforcement is implemented either in a reactionary mode in response to active slope movements or in a preventative mode to maintain or enhance current slope stability. Basic principles are presented to help explain why slopes fail and how reinforcement options work within the slope mass to stabilize it. Examples and case studies are used to illustrate the geotechnical aspects of slope reinforcement and stabilization.

Topics range from pre-implementation testing and planning to post-project inspection and maintenance.
